I have a couple questions about duck hunting that I am not exactly clear on. Read the TWRA info, but its clear as mud.

Is it legal to shoot ducks while they are floating on the water?

Is it legal to flush ducks with a boat then shoot them? Assuming you have cut the motor off and are just floating?

Yes it is legal to shoot them on the water. As far as flushing them up with a boat, you can not shoot until the motor is off and all your momentum has stopped, but anything is legal if you don't get caught wink.gif

It doesn't seem sporting at all to shoot them on the water or to run and gun them with a power boat.Who are you to judge?Somebody with a brain. It 's all legal if you don't get caught ?Give me a break!

1) any water fowl has to be in flight and in clear range to be shot.

2) boat can't be moving or have engine running while shooting water fowl.

It's your choice of when to shoot and not to shoot. But trust me. You don't want to get cought shooting ducks on the water or flushing them with a boat. My friend lost his dads ski boat and truck along with his license's for 2 years. And some hefty fines and court cost to add with it. All because he thought it was funny to chase ducks with the ski boat. He didn't even have a firearm in the boat.

Rebel you can actually shoot them on the water if you want, but you are correct about the boat being off and all momentum stopped. Here are the regs. http://www.state.tn.us/twra/pdfs/waterfowlguide.pdf

You can float the river, without a motor being used to power the boat, but first you have to find some ducks unsure.gif
