Ive went out for the last 2 weekends friday and sunday and stayed all day... Ive only managed to catch 3 keepers with the largest just around 3 pounds.. Ive caught maybe 20 dinks.. Ive threw basiclly everything in all the spots that was producing last year at this time... I was just wondering if anyone was doing any better??? I can catch stripe when there busting the shad without a problem but Id much rather be catching bass.. Does anyone have a therory as to what the deal is? I think its the huge shad population this year.. Ive never seen so many..

I was down there from Thursday to Sunday morning and we had a pretty good trip, but had a hard time putting any sort of good pattern together..I had a 5# and 4.5# largemouth on a spinnerbait, 2 smallmouth around 3.5# on a crankbait, and quite a few smaller keepers on various baits..We caught all of our fish on main lake banks and shallow pockets..We could not buy a fish in the creeks or deep pockets..I know that some people have, but just could find many baitfish in the deep pockets..I think the water temp. is still just a little high..I look for the fishing to be awesome over the next few weeks..Good Luck..

I fished mid lake on Fri. caught 15 to 20 on main lake points with swimbaits and
crankbaits problem was just 3 keepers.Lake still too warm IMO.

I would say the next couple of weeks will really turn the fish on.
