is this the laurel fork that flows near campell/claiborne county and into bell/whitley county KY? if so no ive not, but my grandpaw used to. that and clear fork which is near it, and tackett creek. said there used to big, BIG smallies in there.

i would definately like to check clear fork and laurel fork both out on day soon...theyre both in a very remote, wild area...right on the bell/claiborne/whitley/campbell lines...

Frog level is just up the road from the campground. it is not marked only a dirt road on the right. if you have fished to the cable crossing the creek above the campground you were not that far from frog level. in wet years there are some really pretty pools and shoots to fish and some small waterfalls. it is all single hook artifical only above that cable with a small possesion limit of trout. hope this helps. smile.gif

WELL IVE FISHED ALL THE WAY TO THE LAST CABLE CROSSING,AND WAY OF FROM THAT,THING FROG LEVEL WAS SOME TROUT FISHING MECA,BUT NEVER FOUND IT.THERE ARE TWO HUGE WATER FALLS UP THAT RIVER FROM THE CAMPGROUND.I HIKED ALL THE WAY TO THE END TILL I COULDNT HIKE ANY MORE AS THE TRAIL ENDED.ITS VERY BACK COUNTRY.BUT A VERY NICE PLACE KINDA SCARY BY YOURSELF.

I have fished up there once, about two weeks ago, and loved it. I camped just off of the A.T. entrance on the dennis cove side( it was on the left past Kincora hostel ). I woke up at sunrise and hiked to the falls. Caught some good ones, but no monsters. I can't wait to try frog level! I have been to Coon Den Falls around the area. It was impressive and beautiful! I have also been to the cable you are talking about, but never past it~~it was to cold to chance crossing. Never ran into any critters. I did here a bird that sounded just like a cell phone. It was really annoying.

That must be where i left my phone. if you hear it ringing answer it and tell them to leave a message. biggrin.gif

I live in valley forge, basically right before you get to hampton. I've hiked to the laural falls a few times, but never fished there. I saw some very nice water that just looked like the trout were thick. My brother used to fish near the double bridges if you're on your way to hampton from elizabethton. (30 seconds from my house) He said it was great fishing there, but I've not been yet. mad.gif
