well, we went to S Holston yesterday evening and stayed til about 4:00 am. My buddy had a keeper and lost a good one. Caught a few 10 inchers but other than that, it was dead as could be. the water temps was a steady 78. I didn't catch a keeper all night! There wasn't that many boats fishing and there hadn't been any boats beating the lake to death either due to the rainy weather.

Anyone up for going to the trout farm to catch a few........LOL!!!!!

all this rain may have had some effect on the fish. Did you fish the Tn side or VA side.

I don't know about you guy's but isn't South Holston alway's tough? I have fished 3 eight hour tourny's in the past with 1 trout to show for it Iguess if you fish it alot it makes it some easier

A friend of mine won a small tx up there saturday night with a little over 5lbs.... It's slow to say the least.

I've been S.Holston 3 times and caught a total of 2 fish. I hate that lake. If i ever go there again, i'm gonna go with somebody that knows the lake a little better than me.

The biggest stringers of smallies that I've ever caught came out of there and I've caught (2) 6lb. smallies from there also. But most of the time, I would rather go somewhere else. It can go hot to cold and back in a matter of hours, sometimes it can just be tough for weeks....

I was up at South Holston today its unbeleivable how bad the lake looks right now for this time of the year. The cove at washington county park is dry my camper sets right on the water edge there is no water in the cove and its pretty crazy. Wonder how much there going to drop it this winter.

If we keep getting this rain, it won't be much different than normal winter pool. But if it turns dry again like it usually does in the fall, who knows where it will wined up??

Holston can be tough,

But the fish are there.
