Just one thing, it's a "lake guide" toon. Made more for still or slow waters. It probably wouldn't make much difference in our rivers though. Just go to the manufactures website and see what class rapids it can handle. Look for at least class 2.

Thanks BF, I will continue my search.

Charger make sure you get on that has an aluminum frame, it will be alot lighter than a steel frame, Water Skeeter or ODC would be 2 goods one's to look at.

Thanks, I emailed them for a price.

Here's a link that says the lake guide has a steel frame. Sounds about right for that price. Also says it has river guide type toons. Probably a good toon for the money, but I'd look long and think hard before I made a purchase.

Here's another link to a sight that usually has good deals on their stuff. Eagle Outdoors
If you call them, they sometimes will tell you what's on sale. I'll try to get Crzzycraig to sign on and give you the name to ask for. He got a sweet deal on a odc1018. The odc816 or 915 would be a good choice either way.

I got my 1018 used on ebay for $360. It had been used well more than the "TWICE USED" statement made by the seller, but has no damage. Just faded powder coat and a little dirty. No patches or holes in the toons. My only complaint is that it's a bit too big sometimes. I don't have a truck so I haul it in a minivan and put it together at the river. Time wasted when I could be fishing. Would probably fit in a long bed, full size truck, but would be difficult to handle by myself.

There are several companys that make toons. I'll post links as I remeber them. Always double check the info given to make sure it's correct (steel frame or aluminum).

Ebay is a good place to look, but you have to be patient to get a good deal on one. This is the right time to start, cooler weather and all.

I'll stop now. Can you tell I like to toon?

Thanks BF, I will keep a look out for one on ebay.

Here's a link to a west coast site that take their toons very serious. They have toon tournements and all kinds of customizing ideas.

just wanted to put in my 2 cents.I love my 1018. I got it back in the summer and have had a ball with it. I did have a slow leak in one of the toons, all I did was call creek company and they replaced the bladder with no problems. Turn around was really fast too. All of their toons have a lifetime warranty and their customer support will call you back and are very helpful.

One of the things me and my friends have learned from using one man toons is that if you have at least 9 foot long tubes, you can handle the up and down motion of the rapids much better.

We do some camping trips where there are as many as 30 one man toons doing a flotilla down the river.

We also use the kick fins to allow us to fish more without having to grab the oars so much or anchor up all the time.
