Got 3 total all off of wd 40 blue wing olive brass bead head #22. I may have gotten the biggest rainbow ever on a fly rod. the pic doesnt do it justice but he was all of 15 in.

Well staying true to the name I made that net back when I was using alot of rooster tails trout fishing. All the trout nets I could find where either mesh or some kind of netting that when a rooster with treble hooks got in them you nine times out of ten had to cut them out. So I took the old tatered netting off one of my trout nets drilled holes, went to wally world got a cheap bass net and cut the netting off and zip tied the bass net to the trout net. Now when the hooks get in that net you just take the hooks out easy as pie. Other than the looks it works great. The Net Ninja strikes again!!!!

Hey Boone it was kinda dead around where i was but up river a bit it was kinda busy.

Trout nets are supposed to be able to help protect the trouts fragile scales and slime coat. Nylon and some other materials are abrasive and rough on them. The cotton netting on a trout net should be wetted well before it touches a trout.
None of this matters if you keep the fish to eat or whatever, but makes a succesful release a long shot.
Please don't take me as fussing, I just want to make sure those that plan on releasing a trout know why it's better to use a trout net. Better yet to remove the hook while the fish is still in the water. Easier said than done though.

Nice fish by the way. I don't catch a lot of nice rainbows.
